Anyone shoot IDPA at WBRPC?
I'd like to do it. I've never shot competitively before and am worried about looking like an idiot.
I also have some questions about the courses of fire they use and how much ammo I am going to need.
Thanks

I don't belong to the club, but I've been meaning to try and get into IDPA. I believe they usually shoot on Saturday's, which was a problem for me last year due to work.
This year, while it appears I will have most Saturday's off, I have bridal showers, weddings and agility training for my dog. I'm hoping to make a concerted effort and try again for this year.
I wouldn't worry about looking like a fool, from all that I have read the only thing anyone cares about is that you can handle your firearm safely. All my shooting experience is pretty much LEO based, so I'm sure I will feel out of sorts trying to get used to how IDPA is run.
IDPA shoots coming up on April10, May8, June 12. There are shoots every month. Requires IDPA membership. You can check WBRP website for info.

I'm already an IDPA member. Just looking for some practical guidance.
i plan on shooting next saturday and have never done it before either. I take it that you can sign up for IDPA membership the day of the event? From what I have read you need 3 mags and 100rnds of ammo.
Hmmmm......next Saturday, you say?? Have to check my schedule, might try and swing by.
Wow!! Had a great time! I was the new guy wearing the GLOCK long sleve shirt. Did anyone else make it out today?
glad yo made it Fast. It was nice to not be the only new guy. The event staff was great. I wasn't sure if i was going to shoot today, but I am glad I did.
Crap...I forgot all about this happening today. Oh well, I did get out to the range today anyway. Got to shoot my P220, G26 and M4.....life is good!
deepblue, I take it you were the other guy with me and mike in our group? Sorry Im terrible with names!
steve, I thought for sure i would meet you there! Maybe next time. I contemplated shooting my G26 but went with the G19 this time as I have years of shooting time with it and only a few outtings with the 26. Btw, I also just purchased an M4...see you at suscon or at the next IDPA. And for being my first time out I think I did relatively well. But for sure it was fun...much better then randomly shooting 50yd targets at suscon lol.
