Susq. County- Range and FFL?
Just moved to the Montrose area. I'm looking for a range to join that allows rapid fire (an AR that is not permitted to rapid fire is like driving a Ferrari at 35 MPH). Am also looking for a good gun shop/FFL that won't scalp me for purchases and FFL fees for personal sales or internet purchases. I've been coming up here for years and it is absolutely GREAT to have the privilege of living here.
On a side note, how is the trout fishing in Snake Creek? Any good access areas? You can PM me (I'm a catch-and-release trout guy). Thanks!

Welcome to the area! You might check with Hallstead-Great Bend Rod & Gun Club. I have been wanting to inquire there myself as I heard they are AR friendly.
Montrose Sporting Goods is great to deal with. He can sometimes do better than Bud's online pricing.

Thanks, Tony. I'll have to stop in there. I haven't been there in a couple of years and it's good to know they have very competitive pricing.

Let me know how you make out in your range search. I have a Tavor I would like to try out. New to me as of yesterday and I love it already!
Re: Susq. County- Range and FFL?
Hallstead is a bit shy on property for ranges and as I remember not black gun friendly.
I know for a fact that New Milford Gun club is great. They allow rapid fire, full auto if legally owned, pistol practice from holster etc. last year they had a full auto weekend.
They have a long range rifle range, KD rifle range, short/long/indoor pistol ranges, trap/skeet and plink shotgun ranges. They allow anyone to zero or practice right before hunting season.
Silver Lake allows black guns but I don't think you burn through large magazines...nice facilities though
$40 a year and you must maintain active NRA membership
