Picked up rifle number 2 of 5. 3 and 4 should arrive Thursday. I originally thought about selling this to help pay for the other rifles, but it's too hard for me to sell a Finn. The stock is really nice on this, but it doesn't show up well with indoor photos.

I love the odd balls. Already have one, but my shop practically gave it to me - lol. Well, let's say a great deal :) Mossberg was ahead of the times a couple decades ago for sure.

That may be the most striking barrel stamp I've ever seen. Impossible to duplicate. The cartouche on the stock puzzles me though - given the condition of the stock, shouldn't there be scratches through the cartouche? Maybe I just didn't see them..
Still though, beautiful find. Congratulations!
It is a nice looking rifle. I don't say this to be an a$$, but I don't know why you think there should be scratches on the cartouche. The stock is in pretty good shape with a few handling marks. The finger groove area has the most wear (you can see that area is lighter than the rest of the stock). It is struck very well. I have a 1942, and the cartouche isn't as well struck. The 42 isn't scratched up either. I bought this 43 from a recent auction that had a lot of Civil Guard M39's (there were so many, it was almost impossible for me to not try to buy one). I'm very excited over the two rifles that will arrive tomorrow.
Hey if you ever want to part with a SKY let me know LOL, it would look great with your old VKT and the Sako :) :) :) Such wonderful rifles, I'm glad they are in your care and will be enjoyed and looked after.
