Well, if that is the CORRET interpretation of the Constitution then he did the right thing. I have to go back and look at the case more.

The case was a state case, so no prosecution under the NFA,
I think the case was decided correctly.

Kavanaugh, in dissent, called the ruling “a serious mistake” and said it would “likely mean that thousands of inmates who committed violent gun crime will be released far earlier than Congress specified.”
this language here is what i fear we will see when any major gun item comes across the courts.
"well, we feel it is an infringement, and it probably shouldn't exist, but we don't want to upend the thousands of laws and burden the lower courts with all the lawsuits that would arise, so we are going to not rule on this but we'll extremely narrowly rule on this tiny piece here so we can say we did 'something'"
i'm with gorsuch on this. my unedumucated opinion.

Re: Gun case: Gorsuch votes with liberal side of court
Guns had nothing to do with it. It had to do with sentencing and the wording of the law. Worded wrong? Blame the lawmakers.
As with many things and many people, what they think they're saying is not what they're actually saying.
