Poll: Should a person be able to own a gun if they are the subject of a PFA?
This is a Pa poll. What do you all think? Should someone who has a PFA be put in a position to give up their 2nd amendment rights? Poll at the link.

Harrisburg, volunteers with the Pennsylvania chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, and mayor Eric Papenfuse are holding a press conference to discuss possible legislation that would bar gun possession by domestic abusers.
More specifically, the legislation would strengthen existing law by barring gun possession by domestic abusers subject to final protection from abuse orders or convicted of the crime of domestic violence, and require them to turn in their guns to licensed dealers or law enforcement within 24 hours.
The bill, known as Senate Bill 501, would strengthen existing law to ensure abusers convicted of domestic violence crimes turn in their guns promptly and securely.
Our question is, should a person be able to own a gun if they are the subject of a PFA?

Of course they shoot. PFAs require no evidence, and if a crime had actually been committed a person subject to a PFA would be in jail.

Don't know the exact details, but it's already happening if you have a PFA filed against you in PA.
"Pennsylvania law authorizes courts to confiscate a PFA defendant’s firearms, ammunition, and firearms license even prior to the PFA hearing. The mere accusation of abuse can result in seizure of your guns and any other weapons."
"If you’ve been served with a temporary PFA or if a final PFA was entered in your case, you may have just 24 hours to surrender your guns, weapons, ammunition, and firearms license to your local sheriff’s office. Ignoring a court order to relinquish your guns could result in up to ten (10) years imprisonment under federal law."

First PFA laws have to be changed. Lawyers use PFA's as a strategy during divorce proceedings rather than to protect the person from abuse.

Yeah but if this passes, it'll be super doubley illegal.

Exactly. All you have to do is say "I'm scared". Good luck getting custody of the kids after that. I'm not sure if they changed the law yet that states having a penis makes you a bad parent.

Yes and the person getting the PFA should buy a gun and go to the range. Dumbasses
