Not the perfect thread for this, but what the hell...Federal law bars you from possessing guns or ammo if, among other things, you were ever convicted of a state misdemeanor punishable by more than 2 years. Retail theft can be a 1st degree misdemeanor in PA for frequent flyers, which is punishable by more than 2 years.
To give you a specific answer we'd have to look at the statute under which you were charged, as it read 22 years ago,
