Dropped off my application on 3-12-10, called the sheriffs office on
Monday and was told they are "working on it now" and that I should
hear something this week.
Does that seem about average to everyone?
Thanks
Chris

Still have a week or so left until the 45 day limit comes into play. I handed mine in the day after my 21st (Novemeber 20th) and got it back December 23. I would give it another week from today.
I'm thinking any day now
42 days for me, 43 for my neighbor. We handed them in together.
Postcard came in today's mail, guess I gotta go to the gun store
for a small summer carry gun now, gonna be hard to carry an xd 40 in the summer
Not if you open carry :)
CC'ing a full size gun, assuming your XD 40 is either the service model, or tactical, is really not that hard. You just need a quality holster/gun belt which shouldn't cost you more than $125. IWB holsters and a t-shirt over top make for an easily concealed firearm.
Congrats, yup the sherrif's office is swamped with applications.
Let us know what you get, My Sig 229 feels like i have a brick strapped to my side, so i'll be sporting my G26 and Kahr CW9 , Winter the Sig goes back on duty.
I recently bought a really nice don Hume OWB holster and
galco gunbelt, holds the xd high and tight on my hip,
it also has s slight forward cant so the bbl doesn't stick out
of bottom of whatever I wear as an overshirt.
I should be fine CC'ing the xd but this gives me an excuse
to head over to American sport shooting and buy another gun.
Stopping by the sheriffs office on my way home this afternoon
to pick up my LTCF so today will be my first time CC'ing,
I'll post later after I pop the cherry
