Re: Heidelberg Sportsman’s Association Multi Gun Shoot
Two weeks away, hope I have my new stock by then...
Re: Heidelberg Sportsman’s Association Multi Gun Shoot
I need to set aside one of these dates for this year for some 3 gun despite my 3 shot shotty I use for sporting clays ... was always busy on those days last year.
It's a plus too that I'm actually competent enough compared to last year not to shoot completely like a noob.
Re: Heidelberg Sportsman’s Association Multi Gun Shoot
id love to try something like this. i'm assuming i could make due with my old '56 ithaca
but so i know what im getting into, could someone clue me into a typical course of fire for these events?
Re: Heidelberg Sportsman’s Association Multi Gun Shoot
I see it says registration is 830-930. Is there any kind of limit to # of shooters. Not that I make the drive out and its full.
Re: Heidelberg Sportsman’s Association Multi Gun Shoot
Rhys, there's a number of youtube videos of actual stages at Heidelberg and other local matches.

Check utube tons of vidoes. THis is a nice laid back but safe match. Not as competitive as some matchs . Run what you brung and a few people who are first starting just shoot just rifle & pistol and no shotgun or borrow a shotgun . I have even seen people use a lever action shotgun.

I have shot the match in the rain and cold with maybe 25 people and in the middle of the summer with almost 60 . I would assume if you make it by regisriation you will shoot just the more shooters = longer day.
Re: Heidelberg Sportsman’s Association Multi Gun Shoot
the videos look good, i might just make the drive.
my shotgun only holds 4 or 5 i think, but you're welcome to use it sean if we're both there

We have never turned anyone away (unless they are late and miss the shooters meeting). The more people though the more time to get everyone through the shoot. Usually the early ones when it's still cold out don't have a huge turnout.

You don't need a shotgun, you can shoot with rifle and pistol only. That or bring shells and borrow someones shotgun in your group.
