I'm looking to add a .41 Magnum revolver to my collection.
It's down to two choices:
S & W 57 4"
or the hard to find
Ruger Redhawk 5.5"
I've got a line on the Smith, but haven't pulled the trigger ( pun intended !! LOL ).

I would say the M57, potentially a much better trigger. On the other hand, if you're looking to use big loads the Ruger wins all day long.
Don't forget about the Ruger Blackhawk in .41 Mag. They can be had for significantly less than the Redhawk or the Model 57. You're giving up double action, however.
You missed the Dan Wesson.
I kind'a pasted on the Blackhawk series for a DA trigger, although it would make an excellent choice.
Try finding a Dan Wesson .41 might be harder than locating a Ruger 5.5" Redhawk ( the 7.5" version is more common )
One of my favorite cartridges.
Get the S&W M57 in 4” if you can find it. Don’t forget the M58 too.
A great carry load is the Winchester Platinum Tip 240 gr. JHP.
May I suggest , being the 41 is on the decline and the 10mm is ascending, you might want to get a 610 instead. Between 40s and 10s you'll have much greater choices in ammo and moon clips are fast fast fast.
