Hello everyone I am new to PA been hear in Chester county year and half need help getting references for my LTCF. I am retired and dont really know anyone I would be comfortable using for references. I do have references I could use from Maryland but still not comfortable giving out their info. Anyone with experience with this from Chester county would be appreciated.

Mine have never been called
Re: New hear new to Chester PA need help with references for LTCF
They don't contact references. Do you belong to any of the gun clubs or conservative leaning groups? Maybe you go to a range regularly? Those would be the places to find someone.
The current 2A friendly Sheriff is retiring and not running in November. The county has been overrun by the idiots and it's possible that a Bloomberg-paid-for asshole will be our next Sheriff in January if gun owners don't show up in November. Get it done now.

Joshua Prince would say that requiring references is a violation of title 18 Pa.C.S. 6111(g)(3.1) and (i).

I hate to necro on an old thread, but this is a question I still hear from time to time, so I figure it can't hurt to put good information out into the ether in case anyone else comes by here asking the same question in the future.
The short version is that Chester County hasn't required references since at least 2015. I saw that blog post shortly before I renewed in 2015, so I left the references field blank. The deputy who processed my paperwork accepted my application without comment. The same thing happened when I renewed in 2020, so it appears that the change in sheriffs hasn't caused a change in policy on this specific question.

Still no references needed in 2023. Handed in a new application (changed counties) and they didn't even bat an eye at the blank lines. Turn around from drop off to receiving id in the mail was 16 days. Was pleasantly surprised I didn't need to go pick it up like my previous experiences in delco.
