I know this is an old thread, but thought I would post an update if anyone else found this thread via a web search
I visited the Carnegie Science Center on January 2, 2017. There are signs on the doors at the entrance "No Weapons or Firearms"

"Firearms are prohibited regardless of permit" basically. And they did use the word PROHIBITED.

I’ve cc’d at the zoo, I didn’t see any signs and there wasn’t a “check” at the gates as of 8/2019

Better to be ignorant than build a case against yourself by "figuring out" what places allow carry...
