I own a Citori 12 and a Beretta O/U 16. I shot a 75 straight in skeet with the Citori because it's a better fit for me. Both are fine if they are a good fit for you.

Went to Cabela's and tried both, liked the cxs better, but they did not have 32 inch barrel in stock so ordered online
I am researching shotguns for shooting skeet and trap myself. I am a novice, but my father shoots and I really enjoyed it when he took me out (unfortunately he lives in Illinois and he has to drive to Wisconsin to shoot).
Could someone run down what to look for for a beginer for gauge and features?
I have a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon that I used for skeet and really love it! Still use it to hunt with. Caution in the 686 there is a little thing that kicks the safety on after the first shot. I had mine removed. I had a Browning years ago and didnt care for it. That particular model only had chrome moly chambers not the barrel. Had to clean it ASAP after shooting or it would have surface rust inside the barrel. That may not be the case now as that was 25 years ago and I bought the gun used. I also have a Weatherby Sporting Clays Classic that is an awesome gun.
Hint go to trap, skeet and sporting clays events and talk to people. I did that. My first trap and skeet gun was Remington 11-87 Contour Light. Served the purpose for a couple years and a lot cheaper than investing $1300 to $2000 and finding out you don't like the gun. Good luck! Have fun shooting!
