I am a former Marine and considered having one of my Marine friends in another state buy a rifle for me and hold onto it until I am in a state where I can legally possess it (when I retire) and then I would reimburse him the cost and have him sell it to me. But my concern there is that any new assault weapons ban might have the sale or transferring of such rifles be illegal by then too.
Would that not be a straw man buy?

Long gun transfers can happen in any state
Firearms (handguns) need to happen in buyers home state
If you sold your rifles to a PA resident (INTRAstate), you are fine. If you sold to non-PA residents you've committed felonies
Oh good. All my guns have been bought and sold in PA. Thought I missed something somewhere.

hypothetical..
if you can buy stripped lowers in NY, just stick them and all the rest of the bits to build an AR in storage.

I don't think the OP is still waiting for an answer. It's almost 6 years ago.

One little foot note. Must comply with both state laws. If op can't own it in new York he cant buy it in pa.
A cop should know the laws better. A cop shouldn't be looking for ways to circumvent the law. I bet he would bust any one of us for a bullet in the back seat.

I don't know anything about this company, but it would not be legal for any non-FFL to take custody of handguns or long guns from residents of other states; the only way that looks legal is if EVERY customer gets a private locker and supplies his own padlock, for which the company doesn't have a key. Banks do this with safe deposit boxes because they have to drill the box if the customer loses his key. (BTW, it's legal to store your NY guns n a PA bank, even an AR or M-16 lower if it fits. Banks may not permit it, but it's legal.)
If you run a free ad here, expect to face some scrutiny.
