Carry a baseball bat (wood). Personally, I wouldn't carry a gun. A knife and or bat, yes.
Edit: What gnbrotz said, even better.
Still carry the bat, just in case he talks back.

I don’t even umpire anymore lol. Edit to add: I chose not to carry for anyone wondering.
Nice find. Did you find it by Googling your name?
"Lack of deterrence likely played a role in many episodes in America’s long twinning of baseball and bullets, such as when Eddie Waitkus, the popular first baseman of the Philadelphia Phillies, was shot in the chest, seriously but not fatally, by a deranged female fan in 1946"
Philadelphia fans...it never changes!
My fathers team lost (playoff game) over the weekend.
The umpire changed the strike zone in the 8th inning.
I'm a manager.
We have had 2 games practically stolen from us this season because of umps changing things up to get the game over with so they can go home as it was getting late. Strike zones shouldn't change because you can't make it 2 hours, jackasses.
I don't carry because like someone else said, most games are at schools...wish I could though. At least we have a lot of bats.
I help out with my daughter's team as a coach when I am available. All I'll say is concealed means just that.
I asked my day why? He said so they (umps) would be invited back next year. My dads team were the visitors.
They were playing a team that won 29 games (out of 30something), he told his kids, if you keep the score close,
guaranteed, the other team will start to argue with each other and fall apart. Well they did.
8th inning the other coach has a talk with the umps, and there you have it.
My dads best pitcher didnt show, went to vegas (has a drug problem) and his best hitter dislocated his shoulder.
He only had 11 guys for the game.
