I'm not sure about that and I don't recall if I even recieved a notice here in Philly.I was wondering if they also treat renewals there as if they are brand new applications?
You're doing better than us Bucks Countians. Zero notices going out.
The law states "at least sixty days prior to the expiration of each license...". Inside 60 days, or in Bang's case, not at all, is in violation of 6109 (f) 2.
Now if my issuing agency was as quick as York County, and had a 24 hour turn around with no lines and friendly customer service that actually thanks you for carrying a firearm? Then just shut up and smile for the camera!
If my issuing authority happened to be a PITA, didn't offer firearm storage in a non-court building, required me to bring my own picture, show tattoos, sit 3 hours for an interview, denied my LTCF for a parking ticket, and regularly broke the 45 day rule?? Well, lets just say I wouldn't be so nice!
Remember: 18 Pa. Consolidated Statute § 6109 (f) 2
Edit: and my tag line below is very appropriate!

What's up with namby pambies waiting for the guvment to remind you to renew a LTCF? The card has an expiration date right on it. Where has personal responsibility gone?
I don't need the reminder to renew mine, and I'm a Democrat. :)
Sure, what's with expecting the government to follow the law they wrote and passed. We should know better. I really think it is indicative of the disdain with which some places in Pennsylvania have towards firearms, and the people who own them. I received a renewal from Utah, according to their law, and I don't even live there. I also had to call Utah BCI with a question about my renewal. A real person answered the phone, and pleasantly answered my question, without putting me on hold or transferring me to some other department, or making me call back later. Many government officials in Pennsylvania do not agree that you have a right to carry a firearm, and the let you know that in their interactions with you.
Bucks has always sent me notices. Has something changed?
What gghbi said.
