I actuallylly don't mind too many of the tables of so called "filler" items as long as they are not in such abundance that I have to walk past a bunch of them before I get to see any guns.

Whats the deal on buying long guns at these shows as i'm after an AR? Do they insist on a background check or do they just want to see DL and LTCF? Not that i have a problem, it's just typically it takes about 2 hours for my background check to be approved coz i'm a bad toothed Brit :D
Re: Oaks Extravaganza Mar 24, 25, 26 2017
That probably depends on whichever seller might happen to have what you want to purchase.

Right, it depends. Any FFL dealer, at a show or otherwise, has to process a background check for any firearm purchase regardless of long gun or hand gun. If you're buying from a private seller on the other hand... In my experience, most private sellers aren't selling tables full of ARs. I tend to see private sellers selling more "traditional" (for lack of a better term) hunting type rifles. Most firearm sellers at Oaks are going to be FFL dealers though.

I bought a hunting rifle at the show once. We filled out and signed the "transfer paper", which was basically in free format, and the seller snapped the photos of my DL and green card. That was pretty much it. Your mileage may vary.

I've seen those mofugly studded/sequined handbags there. Someone must buy them or they wouldn't spend the time and money to do the show again.

I think you are better off buying a quality AR online and have the rifle sent to your local FFL....less agravation and a much better selection.

Will be a extra trip for me. I will be attending the www.superbilliardsexpo.com the following weekend at the same location.
