Re: DIY Hotwire Cutter for Gun cases with Photos!
Great job on this. Looks professional. Might be a side gig for you too. One thing I would "add" to your cutouts though. Some small half moon cutouts to fit your fingers along the sides of everything, particularly the magazines and optics. I can see someone tugging on an adjustment knob and knocking it out of whack or just getting frustrated because they can't quiiite get the mags to pop out easily.

Nice job!
Maybe find a small piece of laminate (think countertop), contact cement it on and that should provide a permanent, slick platform.
Hmmm.......I live in York too.......now you got me thinkin' about custom gun and photography cases!

Funny thing you mention that since I last posted I have done something similar and you really don't tug to hard. Now with it glued in place you just pull up and it comes out. Without the glue it is a pain in butt.

I cut a case for my photography gear as well as my GoProHD and it worked great in my pelican case. I can post pictures up tonight. If you are in York and need to use it let me know.

This might sound stupid but do you have a sku or a part # for the brass rod? I went to lowes and asked about one and they looked at me like i was speak in latin. I was wondering to would a ground rod copper plated work for this? They did have a 5/8x8' grounding rod that i was thinking cut in 4' length would work so i could make 2 ?

I do not sorry, when I went to Lowes I had a difficult time finding it myself and on the 2nd person pointed me to the right direction. Look in plumbing and ask someone around that area. I will be brutally honest with you man, I have no idea what you just said. Will it work? Probably, but don't hold me to that. Honestly, just go and ask someone about the brass rod and they should have it, if not Home Depot or a True Value will have one. Hell, paypal me the money and I can buy one and mail it out to you! Let me know what you find out.
