Consider how side-clips will interact with your carry location and/or your draw.
Not saying don't try them, just consider...

One problem is if you are not careful in the john the back clip will slide off and the loose end can take a dunk in water not intended for dunking.
I have on rare occasion worn them under a shirt and over a tee shirt as otherwise you need to tuck your shirt in. I mostly pocket carry so the suspenders have not been an issue, but the normal tucked shirt does not allow the shirt over IWB look that is desirable. You will have to experiment to see what works for you.
Whether my Perry suspenders are worn on the outside or under a cover shirt I keep them on my shoulders and unclip them from my belt when I need to drop trou. No real way to dunk them when they stay above the belt line, even when the belt heads south...

Thre's an idea I may have to try. I was used to clip on suspenders and was doing it the way I always did.
Re: Suspenders for Conceal Carry?
I'm on a long-term downtrend weight-wise (from 350 max to currently 250 heading to - here's hopin' - ~180). That means I regularly have pants that don't fit right as I shrink out of 'em, but not enough to go warrant buying new smaller ones (yet).
I keep a few pairs of suspenders handy for that.
I CC daily and have never had a problem with the suspenders. Mind you I often carry at 6:00, so I have to be sure to get 'split rear' suspenders, not the kind that come down straight in the back. The ones I wear are also 'elasticized' so stay pretty snug. I can certainly see it interfering if they flapped around. I can also see where near-any suspenders would interfere with those who carry around 2:00 or 10:00 where the fronts typically go.

I always wear mine over my shirt(s) but under any jacket.
To drop trou, I just flip 'em off my shoulders.

Seems to me they'd be hard to flip off your shoulders if you're wearing a jacket...

LOL. Yes indeed.
Typically, in a de-trou-ing situation, I've removed the jacket already and hung it on the hook provided on the door of most stalls...

Hold-Up makes their Under-Ups suspenders. They can go under your shirt and right against your body or over an undershirt. Can't tuck the top shirt, though. I wear regular Hold-Up suspenders at matches to keep my gun belt and pants from falling while I meander around the range.

This is why I just go with visible suspenders.
Own it.
