Gunboards.com registration activation question
I signed up for an account to be able to post some questions over there at the suggestion of a member here. It’s been about two days since I’ve signed up and I still haven’t received approval to post. Anyone have any experience using that site and why it might take so long to be approved?
Re: Gunboards.com registration activation question
Gun boards sucks … oh sorry , that wasn't the question.
Anyhow I have seen this before.
Should it not happen I suppose the other member could contact Vic for you ….. if not , let me know and I will
Re: Gunboards.com registration activation question
Thanks. I’ll give it a little more time just in case. I have some Enfield questions. Posted here but the suggestion was to go to the Enfield board there.

They do have some specialized knowledge over there.
And some other "stuff"
I can recall folks complaining about your issue in the past.
I think some things slip over there sometimes..
So nothing new I assume , I spend precious little time there but have an account if you want me to try and contact someone.
Re: Gunboards.com registration activation question
It seems to take a few days, weeks at times, to receive approval for forums. Two days isn't very long to wait. Give it at least a week. There are some knowledgeable Enfield collectors in the forum. I'd suggest some Facebook groups, but you have to know who is knowledgeable, and who isn't. Being new, it would be tough to figure out.
Re: Gunboards.com registration activation question
Yeah, I just had some questions about markings I couldn’t find through regular searching. I don’t plan on using the site often other than for that. I’ll try to be patient but it’s a little annoying. I don’t expect a moderator to be available 24/7 but if you have it set up where new members can’t post until you approve them I’d like to think some would check more often than weekly or biweekly. Oh well.
Re: Gunboards.com registration activation question
I have some knowledge of Enfields (No 1 MK III; No 4 Mk I, No 5 Mk I) so if you want to post the markings for all to see, I;ll see what I can find out/know. Dave_n
Re: Gunboards.com registration activation question
I know from owning my own forum and having to research applicants for being spammers sometimes it takes a couple of days to get to it and then do the research with email and IP addresses with various tools to see if you are who you say you are. It's not like voting in a democrat controlled district where anyone can vote as many times as they want. Most forums want to be assured you're not a spammer or democrat or both.

My original post was here in the rifle forum. Check it out for more information about the rifle in question. I’ve basically identified most of what I wanted on the rifle. It’s a No4 Mk1, 1943 Maltby FTR B. My questions are centered on the triangle symbol on the receiver, the markings in the channel on the bolt, and on the back rib of the magazine. Feel free to ask questions. http://forum.pafoa.org/showthread.php?t=356818

Re: Gunboards.com registration activation question
I will look into these. Personally I have never looked at/for the markings that you show, but I will have a look at my collection of Skennerton's books on the Lee Enfield and see if I can find anything related. Dave_n
