H&R shotgun Model 1900 Firing Pin
Can anyone tell me how to remove and replace the firing pin of an Harrington and Richardson model 1900 12 gauge and what is supposed to cause the pin to retract back into the breach? This is the one with the forearm held on with a screw and the removable hinge pin for attaching the barrel to the receiver.

jaybell. Actually the free pdf schematic didn't answer my questioin but the one I got from there for $1.50 confirmed the problem. Unlike most the firing pin is retained by a screw on the top of the breech. I have one of the few models requiring the trigger guard to be removed in order to access the screw as it is on the inside of the breech mechanism. To do that I have to remove the stock, the barrel at fore stock. Then the fun may begin as it appers that the trigger guard is attached from internal hard to reach screws.

It was 32 magnum's posts picked off on google that brought me here. I think I will pm him after I break the gun down and get some pics of what is going on. Thanks thetruepyromaniak

32magnum is probably the best person to answer this. Even though I'm well versed in H&R guns, this is one of those that I have no clue about.
