Does anyone know anything about handguns from F.I. Industries of Washington DC?
All I know is that I've only seen one other one in the past 10 years or so.
Here's mine.

Model D .380 ACP
Search Iver Johnson, and STAR.
As I understand it, all three made copies of, or bought the rights from Colt.
I don't know if F.I. made other models or not.
That's the best I can do... hope that helps, and welcome to the forum!
Thats cool. I have seen a few on Gunbroker and Guns America but none like this one. It is all chrome and completly engraved and was just curious as to how rare it was.

Quote:
FI INDUSTRIES MODEL D 380 - EXCELLENT IN BOX - This is the gun Colt used as the original Colt Pony. When the deal with FI ended, t was marketed by FI and later Iver Johnson. A small all steel locked breech 380 that handles exactly like a GM 45.
$35.70?
Ouch.
I found a business card for a local guy who sells hard to find parts... I'll call and get a price. I think I only paid $15 for my spare mag. (Although that was about eight years ago)
He doesn't have a "shop", so it may take a day or so to get in touch with him.
Haven't found any info that suggests "f.i. INDUSTRIES" was ever an existing business. Their logo on the box lists 20022 as their zip code. That's the same zip as the shop that sold the Model D .380 pistol I have. That seller was:
THE GARCIA CORPORATION
SPORTING ARMS DIVISION
515 Kerby Hill Rd
Washington, D.C. 20022
One fellow told me the "f.i." stood for "foreign imports". Garcia did import lots of arms, so that is plausible. Anyway, Garcia no longer exists in DC --- 515 Kerby no longer exists. [MapQuest puts it near H St NW and North Capitol St NW --- the scene of the 1968 DC riots which destroyed 1200 stores and businesses.]
OK, regarding mags for the F.I. Model D, I was finally able to speak to the guy near Pittsburgh that I mentioned earlier.
His price is pretty close the the other one in the link above.
$35 + $4 Shipping
He has "several". If anyone needs one, PM me and I can get you his address.
He doesn't have a storefront, or internet sales.
