Washington and Pens 2-2
Washington up 3 games to 2
Right on schedule for my Caps in 6 prediction unfortunately. Pens D cant put a complete game together and hold any lead. Letang who should be the staple of the defense looks like a rookie at times. Murray is letting shots by that he would have stopped last year. Phil Kessel is obviously hurt and is a turnover machine every other shift.
I look for the Caps to close it out tomorrow night. They are playing like the Pens did the last two years. Complete role reversal. It is a moot point however as I think the Lightning will truck whoever wins the series.
Lightning/Vegas should be fun.
Really hate to admit being right about it but we seen too much inconsistency with this team defensively through the regular season, that pretty much started when they got blown out in Chicago the first game of the year. Rutherford got rid of too much experience and talent when they left Cullen, Kunitz, Daley, and Bonino go. Then, when they were rolling at the end of the year and looked like contenders they traded Cole and Reaves. That trade when they got rid of Cole for god only knows what reason is when the defense really started to flounder. I don't know what Sullivans problem with him was but he should have put up with it a few more months. Brassard was brought in but he never got going and the injury to Kessel, Haglin and Malkin was the final nail in the coffin. Bunch of excuses but it is what it is.
Oh well if you would have told me 3 years ago that they would win 2 cups in a row and finally lose the 2nd round to the Caps this year I would have been ecstatic.
