Savage 10 Precision Carbine 223 rem
The savage 10 PC looks as if it may be my next rifle purchase. It's part of their law enforcement series. This all started because I sold my 700VS .22-250 a few years back to get money for an AR15 purchase. Dang! why did I do that??? Anyways, I sure miss having an accurate bolt gun and I have some cash to spend. Yes the .223 is not a .22-250 but it seems like a good idea to get the rifle in the same caliber as the AR since I have dies and lots of reloading supply for 223. I want a 20" barrel to keep it lighter etc. My choices were narrowed down to the savage or a Remington SPS Tactical. The savage has a camo AccuStock, an Accutrigger, and detachable mag. I have nothing against remington but may give Savage a try this time around. If any of you think it is a bad idea to select this Savage rifle over the Remington, let me know. Thanks!

Savage 10's are mighty nice rifles. It more comes down to preference. Tho I think the remington will have more of a mod/part market for it, if that is part of your goals.

Looks like a fine gun ... even though I'd opt for the .308 version.
Re: Savage 10 Precision Carbine 223 rem
I just ordered the 10fp PC in 308 but it will be a few weeks until I get it (I guess they are kind of hard to get right now). I have 2 other savages (12 F TR in 308 and 11f in 223) and I can say they are very accurate for the price. I'll write a review after I get it and take it to the range but I can't say enough about how much I like my savages.
Re: Savage 10 Precision Carbine 223 rem
If I was just starting out, I would get a 308. But owning the 700VS and AR has left me with plenty of brass and bullets to load with. Plus my wife would most likely enjoy the .223 more. My local shop wants $642 for the gun. I just have to give them the green light to order. I think it's time to order it. I guess I'll have some time to select mounts and a scope. Probably a $300-$350 4-14x Burris or Nikon on a picatinny type mount.
Re: Savage 10 Precision Carbine 223 rem
I started out with the .308 police carbine...loved it so much that when a Predator in .223 came up, I didn't even hesitate. No regrets- these rifles have and always will shoot better than I'm capable of.
