then you need to get more range time in.

Usually couch ninjas that shoot once a year are the only ones bad ass enough to carry 5 rounds. Even a Navy Seal would carry more. Chris Kyle carried 9 rounds in a 1911. He killed two guys at a gas station trying to rob him. A 5 round snubbie revolver is better than nothing and probably more than you'll ever need. Recommending that's all you need is foolish. Anyone who shoots a lot has missed a point blank shot moving and transitioning to another target. It looks so close it's impossible to miss yet there's no hole in the target. Imagine how worked up you would be in an actual life and death shootout. You coul miss two, transition, miss two then 1 round left and your screwed. Think you're too awesome to miss?
For F's sake. 8 or 9 pages over an ignorant Fudd with an opinion.
All it takes is " Close your mouth, jackass, the grownups are talking".
so pretty much every cop is a problem... my thought? shoot til there is no longer a threat; 1 round or 50
Call me odd but I don't fantasize about being a gunfighter. I don't believe that I'll be having dinner in a little restaurant when a gang of masked men come in to rob the place. I don't see me flipping over a table and trading shots with a group of guys armed with MP5s.
Similarly, I don't foresee me getting into a running gunfight with a group of bikers in a WalMart parking lot. Mostly because I'm getting old and running and diving behind cars is just not going to happen.
If I have to invade a Taliban stronghold or rescue my kidnapped daughter, I'll gear up and take an AR and ten mags as well as my BHP and a half dozen mags for it. On top of that I'll dress up like Mas Ayoob with my tactical bathrobe and I'll use the kenpo punch stance.
People need to stop worrying about other people's business. If someone wants to carry 0 reloads or 2 extra reloads hidden in each sock, so be it. To me it's like taking issue with someone running M&S tires vs Snow Tires. Do what you want but dont cry if it doesn't work. As gun owners we should support each other and not ticky-tack on best practices.
Boils down to this... I'd rather someone carry something all the time, every day and be prepared than 1/2 the time and be caught with their pants down at a time of need.
Just 'cuz you're not a gunfighter, doesn't mean we're not.
...I'm gunslinger as phuk.
GREAT QUOTE!!!
On a side note... just because Roger Kipwell doesn't envision getting into some kind of gun fight doesn't mean it can't happen. Believe me, there are lots of people who didn't think about mayhem when they left the house in the morning and became really dead by the end of the day. I'm not gonna die hiding behind a wooden desk (Unless my pants are off and I'm on top of a married secretary and didn't hear the door open)
