New Resident Northampton LTC question

im Matt, ill be moving to Bethlehem in about 2 months from NY. Ive read around looking for some answers and just figured id post to get some opinions on my circumstance.

I want to apply for LTC in Northampton county, the issue I'm wondering about is back in 2005 i was discharged from the Navy with a
other than honorable discharge for failing a drug test (marijuana). To elaborate i got screwed in my contract once i was in boot camp and basically tried to get out administratively they wouldn't let me so i failed a drug test on purpose a short time later.

since then i have been a business owner and all around good member of the community i have no other blemishes in my background.

to clarify i am eligible to purchase handguns and rifles through NICS, only a dishonorable is a disqualification.

looking forward to the move and get away from these crazy NY gun laws.i also have a NH non res carry permit which i believe won't help.

I can't answer your question, I'm not a lawyer, but I do know that in PA it is possible to qualify to buy a firearm while not being able to get a license to carry, and somehow drugs are the reason for the difference.

a friends son was tossed out of the military for the same reason.

he has no problem buying guns and also has an LTCF

more than likely none of this will show up on your nics/pics check.

the military doesn't like to advertise minor internal problems

The discharge was administrative, not judicial. No conviction = no record.
