I remember years back there used to be ongoing threads where it used to be problematic that during a traffic stop; LEO would run your weapon through there "not-registry/sales database" and if it wasnt in there, they would confiscate it until you could prove ownership. I havent heard much about that recently. Is it no longer a problem?
How do you prove ownership if you lose your receipt? Is losing a receipt now a violation of law?

Another month without an update?
Re: PA state trooper disassenbled my gun during traffic stop
I knew a well-respected plain-clothes officer who carried a .30 caliber Luger that he had never fired. I tried to suggest he should fire a magazine full to prove function, Luger sometimes being a little touchy. He wasn't interested. Thankfully, he never had to use it.

Did you talk to someone from their Internal Affairs / Bureau of Integrity and Professional Standards or did you just talk to the someone at a PSP station? If the latter is true, it probably got quashed as soon as you got off the phone.

You could simply not tell the copper you have a gun.
Abscent rare circumstance, lying to the flatfoot is not against the law.
You can bet he'll lie to you at the drop of a hat.
Re: PA state trooper disassenbled my gun during traffic stop
My friend just moved to Florida and he took the concealed carry class to get his Fla license, being ex military he took it anyway. We have gone back and forth before about disclosing to a cop that you are carrying if pulled over. He says you should, and I say you shouldnt. He told me he brought it up to his CC instructor about whether to disclose it or not, he tells me his instructor sided with him. First thing out of my mouth is "the instructors an ex cop right?" He looks at me and smiles because I was right.
