Winchester model 57 value question
An elderly friend of my wife would like to sell her late husband's guns. Most are common and easy to value. One has me unable to locate a fair value on. It's a Winchester model 57 in .22 short caliber. I can find them in 22 lr on gunbroker but I hear the 22 short is rare. The rifle is in in about 90% condition. It has Lyman target aperture sight rear and hooded front target sight. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Winchester model 57 value question
According to the BBGV, the .22 Short was discontinued in 1930. Values are:100% - $1000, 98% - $875, 95% - $725, 90% - $575, 80% - $475, 70% - $425, 60% - $375
It came with a 5 round magazine (standard), or a 10 rnd mag. It should have a left side push button mag release, checkered steel buttplate. 22" barrel w/barrel band. About 18, 600 were made between 1927-1936
