Carbon County Group Shoot Thread
Shall we start planning one event per month now so we can make more of them come to fruition?
I am not sure which clubs currently allow guests or not, this needs to be addressed in order to facilitate this idea, unless we all mutually choose to center this around the Broad Mountain range, which incidentally could also use a paper and trash cleanup effort.
Re: Carbon County Group Shoot Thread
The broad range may be best for this, The club I'm a member of in JT doesn't allow guest on the range. All shooters must be members. I'm in for a group shoot. We tried this at the broad before and myself and two others showed. Come on guys lets give this a try.
Re: Carbon County Group Shoot Thread
I think the Broad range would probably be the best spot like sfdefender suggested, as most clubs in the area require all shooters to be members. I belong to Bowmanstown R&D and they require membership to shoot there.
I am free just about any morning, wife works second shift and we have a little one. But I agree, let's make this happen, would be nice to meet some more local "gun nuts".
Re: Carbon County Group Shoot Thread
May I suggest the Second Saturday morning of May with Sunday the 9th as a rain date.
This is the 8th and provides ample time to plan ahead and is also away from Memorial day by good measure
I plan on bringing trash bags to do a quick 30 min trash cleanup of the parking lot (this trash is out of shooting lanes)and some beer opening afterward with a burger sounds like a good finish up plan.
We're stuck with PA SGL magazine limits of course, and we need the loudest of us to please act as RO for safety.
Re: Carbon County Group Shoot Thread
That weekend should work for me, my wife is supposed to be off that weekend. Where would we partake in the opening of some beers afterwards?
Also, what time are you thinking?
Jim
Re: Carbon County Group Shoot Thread
That date works for me, mornings are good. Lets get a time.
Re: Carbon County Group Shoot Thread
If mornings are best, shall we say 9am to avoid tourists?
Any suggestions for a close by burger joint/beers? We got Thorpe, Nesquey, and well miles of woods toward packer twnship, I know of no little bars there yet.
PA SGL is still 6 on pistol 3 on long guns magazine loadings, correct?
I will dig around to see if I have any 48" printed zombie targets left also!

I live out in Packer Township and there really isn't anything open around here, at least not that early. I'm sure we could find something in either Thorpe of Nesq.
As far as the SGL, yes the limits are still 6 for pistol and 3 for rifle. Not that there is ever really a Game commission officer ever around though, just saying. (And I am not encouraging breaking any laws either). If you are not going crazy and dumping a thirty round mag, they usually don't say much.
Re: Carbon County Group Shoot Thread
hmmm I wonder if it defaults to 6 rounds for crew served equipment then...........
6 rounds belted ammo. LOL
