I was in the Eddystone Wal Mart last night and there was a case of Winchester M-22 "Tactical" .22LR on the shelf at $49.99 per 500. Not exactly cheap, but it was nice to see ANY .22LR available. Anyway, I didn't buy any, so it was still there when I left. Just thought I'd pass the word along...
I looked up information from winchester on that particular "tactical" ammo and according to their company spokesman, the packaging for that ammo is exclusively in 1000 round bulk. If wallmart is selling a 500 round pack for $50, the 22s may be left in stock for a little while longer.
This stuff... There wasn't a round count printed on the box and they look about the size of 500 round bulk packs. If they are 1,000 rounds then a nickel a pop sounds like it was a good deal. I doubt they are still there though.
