Search this feature fouled up

Just tried a search in the shotgun forum "model 87" .... error message was "The search term you specified (87) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer. "

The software (piece of crap that it is - and trust me I know, I've dealt with vBulletin one too many times) is truncating everything before the space and the space too

As can be seen at the above link, if you use the search box at the top left of each page you get a lot of results using your same terms "model 87". That search is a PAFOA specific Google powered search engine of the site.
