I was told that you aren't allowed to shoot an ak-47 at PA public ranges. It sounds like bull to me but I thought I'd put it out there for a definitive yay or nay.

I've heard of the state gamelands having issues with FULL AUTO anything, but not semi's.
Got to remember that this kinda stuff can scare the kiddies.

As stated, AK's, SKS's, etc are perfectly legal to shoot on the SGL ranges, however.....you can only have 3-rounds in the rifle.
Full-auto's are not allowed on the ranges.
I was just at GPGC on Sunday shooting my new Yugo AK ... I didn't have any problems at all. Everyone ( all 5 people there) knew that I had an AK and didn't care.
What would the difference be between it and any other semi-automatic rifle or pistol?
If it was a PA Public (DCNR run) you can shoot it as much as you want as long as you never have more then 3 rounds in it at a time.
If they feel that you are intentionally destroying the TARGETS (ie: shooting the wood posts) they can throw you off the range. If they feel you are being destructive they will also throw you off
