Agree with this statement 100%, however -
I have hosted a couple's game night where 7 out of the 8 people present were carrying :) (the one who wasn't is a Corrections Officer...)
Just have to pick your friends carefully.

My grandfather told me that when he had liberated France as a Doughboy and was marching through the streets there the girls were frisking all of the soldiers right there in the streets.

Were any of the guys open carrying?
Re: Ever been to a party where guests were frisked for weapons?
More importantly, I would never attend a party at any place named Prairie Flower Drive.
But the good part about not having any friends is that I'm not burdened by obligation to attend parties where I'll be wanded or frisked.

Something about "frisking your guests" reminded me of this joke:
Jack was sitting in an airplane when another guy took the seat beside him. The new guy was an absolute wreck, pale, hands shaking, biting his nails and moaning in fear.
"Hey, pal, what's the matter?" Jack asked
"Oh man... I've been transferred to California," the other guy answered, "there's crazy people in California and they have shootings, gangs, race riots, drugs, the highest crime rate..."
"Hold on," Jack interrupted, "I've lived in California all my life, and it is not as bad as the media says. Find a nice home, go to work, mind your own business, enroll your kids in a good school and it's as safe as anywhere in the world."
The other passenger relaxed and stopped shaking for a moment and said, "Oh, thank you. I've been worried to death, but if you live there and say it's OK, I'll take your word for it. What do you do for a living?"
"Me?" said Jack, "I'm a tail gunner on a bread truck."

Most likely two pieces, one long and one short but I don't know what they would have been.

I bet the short one got a little longer, depending on the enthusiasm of the frisking...

Yeah, I don't like being frisked. It just rubs me the wrong way.

Must be a really old joke.

Just out of curiosity, I google "mapped" the address. The 360° view tells me all I need to know. I'm willing to bet the party was the kind where you bring your own 40s - Glock and oz.
