Check with an independent appliance sales company. Maybe talk to the guys who do the deliveries. A friend had a local appliance delivery crew move a large safe. They had a wheeled dolly with hydraulic lift they used for large refrigerators and such.
thanks, I'll look into that. I picked up a card from Gander Moutain in Erie for the company that moves their safe and they came back as rather pricey for such a short move/light (430lbs) safe........
Call a local tow truck company.
They winch the safe up on the flat bed, take it to where you want it and unload it.
The rest is obviously up to you and whomever you know to help move it.
But the big part of transporting it can easily be handled by a tow truck company. They do it a lot more than people think and it is not that expensive.
I have moved 8 safes over my lifetime and the average price is about $75.
To get it into your property best to use the Egyptian method of PVC pipe cut to slightly wider than the safe and roll it. Works great but takes time. Less risk though.
Hope this helps
I had 3 young gym guys take mine off of my Chevy S-10. I'm pretty sure that was one of the reason's (back then) why my S-10 tranny went out. When I got it in my house....that was the EZ part as it was on the "right" floor, we sat it on heavy plastic. So, the heavy plastic was between the safe and the carpet. Moving the safe was like it being on an ice rink. Two guys pulled on the plastic and one guy kind of semi-pushed it. Got it to where it needed to be, bolted it to the floor with steel plates under the joist, and bolted the back into the wall studs. The door opening is 6" away from an interior door frame. In order to get any leverage on the safe door, the wall has to be removed. Not that it can't be done, but since time is always of the essence, another 15 minutes to take out a wall to get leverage on the safe door will make even a stupid criminal think. Well....then again.....
Maybe rent an appliance cart and a couple friends.
I moved a 300lb safe with a regular hand truck by myself.
Check with Bower he sells liberty safes by Northwest Bank
A couple of buddies, a 6 pack and pizza usually works. Should not be to hard with a 430 lb safe. You can rent a hand truck that will move 700 lbs.
My safe is 870 lbs and my 2 neighbors and I moved it with my hand truck with the door removed.
