Going to Gettysburg soon with the family and we are going to take the 2 hour bus tour. I did not see anything on there web site about firearms, I was just wondering if anyone knows if there are metal detectors there, Thanks,

There were no detectors there in 2018. There maaaay be no gun signs on the doors of the museum though.
Signs or no signs, carrying inside a federal building is forbidden (as far as I know). I've heard something about carrying on the grounds there but not in the buildings? IANAL
Not to threadcrap, but I've heard that a private tour guide is better than the bus. They're certified/licensed through the park service. They ride in your vehicle so you have control over what you want to see more/less of.
Obviously more expensive though.
This is just a question I always ask myself when I see tour guides. It goes back to long ago when I took a horse carriage tour in Philthytown, when it was safer to do so. As we rode through Old City getting lectured on who lived where and when, etc, I asked myself that very question, "How do I know this guy isn't bullshitting me?".
I took the bus tour in 2018 and it was good.
In the museum, I found it humbling how many people from the same state were shooting at each other in Gettysburg. I think Tennessee was split almost 50/50, which is not what I expected. A country divided on multiple levels.
