Did anyone apply for the CMP 1911 drawing? I sent my paperwork in but haven’t heard anything yet.
I did too. I've been reading the CMP forums for updates, seems like it might take a month or more until they notify you of your number. I heard it suggested over there that they've only received around 17,000 applications. I think that's well below what some expected.
Totally forget to send in everything.
Not surprised they ended up with 17000 apps considering the hoops you had to jump through.

Sent my packet in... haven't heard anything.
Looks like another month of waiting.... latest update:
1911 Update – November 6th
Our Random Number Generator (RNG) has selected random numbers for all the packets received. We are working on assigning those random numbers to the 19,000 packets we have received. This will take some time – PLEASE BE PATIENT! It may take 30-60 days to inform you of your random number. Please DO NOT CONTACT US ASKING WHAT YOUR NUMBER IS.
As we process orders, we will call customers as we work through the list.
**If your information has changed (you have moved or your FFL has gone out of business), please DO NOT CONTACT US. You may update us when your number is selected and we contact you.
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ORDER PACKETS.
Everyone will be notified if their order packet was not accepted so please be patient and bear with us.
Currently, we do not have a date when we will begin auction sales. Once that is determined, we will update our customers
Please check our website for updates - http://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/1911-information/
Thank you for your patience and support.
I've been following along on CMP forums a bit. Latest info says around 19,000 applications received, which is well below some estimates I believe. Seems that they've started calling some of the early "winners" to verify info, but will still be 30-60 days before shipment. Others yet are receiving emails with their assigned random number. Me...I'm still waiting. What i've heard so far is that only service grade pistols have been offered for sale.
Received email that they have completed generating the random numbers but have not finished assigning them to the 19,000 orders. They say 30-60 days before notifications begin so up to 3 weeks before they start notification.
* just saw post 2 before mine - yes, echo :)
Could be worse. Could be surrounded and in need of one. :)
Just got a call from a friend in N.J.
He hit the lottery and the CMP will be sending his 1911 along directly.
