Hurricane and Ammo Sales at Walmart
So I am in the direct path of Hurricane Irma. The stores are completely out of almost anything. My neighbor just came back from Walmart and found that they have a sign on their glass ammo cabinet that they are not selling any ammo at this time even though they have ammo. I am not sure why this would be the case. I have read that Walmart has done this in the past when a government emergency is declared. Obviously no government restriction is on Walmart to cease ammunition sales and they are doing this on their own.
Re: Hurricane and Ammo Sales at Walmart
Keep ammunition away from law abiding Americans whenever they need it the most; that's a pretty good reason not to buy from Walmart if you ask me. I'd like to give them somewhat of a benefit of the doubt; maybe they don't want their employees to waste time with checking ID's for ammo purchases when they need to focus on helping customers acquiring essential items such as food, water, medical supplies, etc... But I'm pretty sure it's most likely for liberal reasons.
Re: Hurricane and Ammo Sales at Walmart
I strongly think that in "our" community of educated gun owners that Walmart can do whatever they want in the proximity of a natural disaster and it doesn't mean squat since we are the kind of people who think of being prepared every day.
Agreed, they are being anal. However I'd wonder at what kind of person waits until a natural disaster is about to happen to suddenly decide they need to stock up on ammo.
Re: Hurricane and Ammo Sales at Walmart
If ammo is what you absolutely must buy in the face of a natural disaster, you're doing it wrong.
Not that Walmart isn't being assinine.

Because they need to save it so there is something for the looters.

Flew down to our Florida winter home to get the house secured ! we were in Port Charlotte when Hurricane Charley made a right turn in the Gulf coming right up the Peace river, that in itself tells you it difficult at best to determine an exact rout of a storm ! I have hurrican shutters installed after Charley, any valuable or firearms are taken with us,A good supply of drinking water, gasoline, identifications and any personal docauments come in the car.We Usually go up to Northwest N Carolina and have accomodations at a Hotel paid in advance for 7 days. Not everyone can do this but you can get in your car and leave early and come back after the storm.I have noticed that some homeowners found firearms missing after Charley but were recovered mostley by LEOs patrolling the streets after the devastation of homes.and yes arms and ammo are secured by wallmart and Florida LGSs ! Be Safe,Be Pro-Active !Homes can be replaced YOU cannot ! MDT
Re: Hurricane and Ammo Sales at Walmart
Yes I am done with Walmart. Fuck em. I have all the ammo I need but when they impose self gun or ammo control. I am done with buying from them. Support your local LGS.
