Looks good, I picked up a couple of antique Marlin lever actions that need a bit of that TLC. I hope they turn out as well as yours did.

I'm not wiggin' out, just cringing. Lol ... looks good. For safely removing rust take a look at Big 45 Frontier Metal Cleaner. It works and if you like 0000 wool then you'll probably like Big 45.

I just got some of this to supplement my bronze wool/steel wool and have not tried it yet, but it looks interesting.

Thanks - I've had a couple folks tell me never use 0000 because it will scratch/leave marks - but I've never had that happen. At least any I've been able to notice ! On guns I don't care about as much, I use the 0000 soaked in my oxpho blue - does an amazing job. For guns like this where I want them to remain as close to un-touched as possible, then just lightly 0000 it.

I like the idea of adding some cold blue to the process. I'll have to give that a try too.
