Shipping guns in Warren County
I've just moved back home to the biggest little town on the map and I need to get some things figured out. Before I moved home I had local shops that I could both receive guns I've bought online and thru forums and ship. I also had a local Fed Ex hub that I could drop off guns that I was shipping myself. Is there a place in Warren county that I can drop off guns that I'm shipping myself? I've met with and using Watson's in Youngsville to have gun's shipped in. First one should hit there sometime today (Sig P220 I picked up off a buddy in Green Bay). Also, any shops worth visiting within reasonable driving distance? I know about Grice's and Bob's Army Navy in Clearfield. Are there any other's worth a visit? Any and all bits of shared wisdom will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Re: Shipping guns in Warren County
Peterson's in Clarendon is a FFL and he will accept guns in for you.
Great gunsmith, tell him Mark sent you.
Sloandale arms ( Just north of Titusville on Springcreek road) has a pretty good selection of ammo & reloading supplies.
Morrison's in Titusville has a decent selection also.
Stay away from Bigtree in Titusville. He sold me a pistol that turned up hot and wouldn't make good on the deal.
Route 66 guns in shippinville has a big selection.
Maurers Trading post on route 8 just south of Franklin has a BIG selection.
There's a small building on Route 8 next to the Venango county airport (Franklin) that has a LOT of guns in it. I think its called mountain top, but can't remember.
And if you stay on Route 8 south past I 80, Gun World in Harrisville has a big selection.

Don't forget Tall Tales Sporting Goods, north of Warren on Rt. 62 near Russell.

I bought an M&P off of them earlier this year. They seemed like good people.

Not to go off topic too far, but I'm not quite getting this. Assuming the gun couldn't pass muster during your state/fed background check, I'm wondering how in the world a gun dealer could acquire a stolen gun in the first place and not know it, given he has to have the same background check as anyone else. Any idea about this? Thanks.
Never mind. I guess he could have acquired it before it was reported stolen. But then you have to wonder how he acquired it from someone to whom the gun wasn't registered.
Gubmit moves in mysterious ways.

1) There is no gun registration in PA. The PSP maintain a sales database and unlawfully use it as an registry.
2) Thief steals guns from daddy.
Sells some some at Big Tree guns and two other shops.
I buy a pistol from Big Tree guns.
Daddy discovers guns stolen weeks later. He reports theft and cops figure out from purchase records who sold the guns and who bought each.
Der Politzei show up at my house and confiscate the hot gun in question and give me a receipt.
The other gun stores in the area refunded the losses their customers incurred and will claim those as a business expense on their taxes.
Dirtbag @ big tree says tough titty to me and I'm out the money. Slime ball didn't even refund the background check money I paid.
Bitter? Yeah a little.

I dropped of my Colt 1911 Gold Cup National Match (stove pipes regularly) with him and in talking with him found out we are related. My mother was flower girl in his parents wedding. Small world, also learned from him that my grandmother used to hide her booze in the washing machine during prohibition. Really funny as my grandfather was a prohibition officer tasked to find illegal booze.
