VA Resident Applying for Non-Resident LTCF in PA
Hello Everyone!
My SO has family in Philly that we visit from time to time and our VA concealed carry permits are apparently no longer valid in PA
Are there any counties that will mail the permit when it's approved, or is our best bet going with a place like York County who just requires that we pick them up in person?
Thanks in advance, fingers crossed that this is the year we'll finally see national reciprocity!

Why do you believe that your VA license is no longer valid here? We most certainly have reciprocity with VA.

Apparently that was an image for ants lol, USCCA is claiming PA no longer accepts VA permits as well: https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/ccw...p/va-gun-laws/

PA's AG drop reciprocity with VA awhile back.

PA no longer has an agreement with VA. That was changed months ago. VA residents can obtain a PA permit but they must come here to have their photo taken and permit issued. I wouldn't mess with Philly. Go to a gun friendly county as a non resident you can go to any county. Others in this forum can help you with which one is the area down that way. Also MD is a road block.

I don't recall that, but a Google search confirms. What a bunch of crap!
Edited my response.

Thanks for the info, I figured this was the route we'd have to go! I'll head to York County at some point, they're only 5 hours away and appear to be very 2A friendly.
Also, I have a laminated printout in my glove-box with the interstate transportation of firearms info on it in case I get pulled over by an ignorant LEO, specifically because of MD lol.

Berks County's sheriff at the Reading airport gets rave reviews for this, check his hours. In and out in 15 minutes.

Amen to that - the fact that our 2A right has been turned into a privilege is a bunch of crap too :(

From another source:
"The change comes after his office determined Virginia’s background check system falls short of the mental health, juvenile criminal record and other screenings performed in Pennsylvania."
How ridiculous. A step backward from constitutional carry. How soon before VA. no longer accepts PA?
