I can't say I'm surprised. Have you been to the sheriff's department lately trying to get a license? My god. It is a line that goes on forever.

I got lucky the week of Feb 22nd. Two ahead of me and no one else came in while I was there. It was afternoon on a cold and windy day.
I just realized I am going on 40 years, more or less. Does any one remember when they changed to five a year term from annual? I am thinking early 1980's when I moved to York county, but am not sure.
I know I got the first one in '75 or '76 when the Russ Wolfe was the sheriff of Northumberland county. My parents knew Russ and he told me since I drove a IH Scout (jeep type vehicle) with no trunk I should get one to avoid possible problems when taking my guns out to shoot! I have had one ever since! Russ was a good man.
Hmmm , thought it was 3yr? Or was that my FFL?
I do remember you had the primary pistol you were going to carry on it. If you had more than one , it had and others typed on it. Think it had thumbprints too. Or was that my military ID?
Getting old suxxx!
Law or no law, you should be on top of your own situation and know when you need to renew, you shouldn't need someone to spoon feed you.
I just renewed my LCTF in Montco at the end of November 2017. I never received any notice that it was up for renewal. I knew when my license expired myself and went over to the courthouse to renew. The whole process took about 20 minutes since there were about six of us in line. Never rely on the gooferment to follow their own requirements. The Montco deputies were polite, pleasant, and professional. I was in and out without any problems.
Just my recent experience,
Mike
