PA Non-resident LTCF holder moving to PA
Long time lurker is this page, but I never posted. I’m moving to the commonwealth this summer from MN. I possess a PA non-res LTCF issues by the sheriff of Westmoreland co. Do I have to notify the sheriff of my new address? Do I have to get a new LTCF? I’ve looked through the threads but haven’t come across any that address this situation. Thanks for any info you can pass along. If you could post links to any helpful sights I’d appreciate it!

.
If you are moving here you need to apply for a resident LTCF in the county you will reside in

Your license is valid until it expires or is revoked.
Once you move here, any future "renewals" will have to go to the sheriff of the county that you live in.
You are not required to notify the sheriff of your present LTCF of your new address, and there is NO means to change it on your LTCF without revoking it. It is helpful for YOU to call the sheriff of Westmoreland Co and let them know of your new address so they can mail you the notice to renew(which you do at your new sheriff's office if you move to some place else).

Legally, there is no such thing as a Non-Resident LTCF (or a Resident LTCF, for that matter). There exists a Pa. LTCF. It is valid until it expires. You can, if you wish, notify the issuing authority of your new address, but it's not required by law. There are no provisions whatsoever for changing the address on an LTCF - it is what it is.
What you will have to change will be your driver's license and vehicle registration.
By having an LTCF prior to moving to Pennsylvania means that's one less thing you have to worry about with all the moving.

Well, that's not true. I had the address in mine changed TWICE by the sheriff who issued it. It was easy too. I sent him an email, and he sent his person an email with a cc: to me, directing that person to change the address and send me a new one.
End result, I ended up with three LTCFs....all the same, except for the address. Now, no address change was REQUIRED - but I figured that if it wasn't going to cost me anything, why the hell not?
My "non-resident" LTCF was recently due to expire, and I renewed it with the sheriff presiding over the PA county I now live in, with no issues at all.

My wife and I recently renewed at Washington County. I was disappointed that they took our app, and then mailed us our LTCF a week later. They were a walk in and walk out county before. What part of the county will you be in?
