I was in Boston a few years back on Patriot's Day. Each year re-enactors assemble on Lexington Green to commemorate the "shot heard round the world". The TV stations give in modest airtime. I am glad the re-enactors do it as likely discussion of the event is being weeded out of the public schools systems. In some ways though, the sad truth is that Massachusetts has made a mockery of their efforts with the Democrats' enactment of infringement laws making sure that no citizen could ever repeat that event against usurping tyrants.
I would suggest a more accurate modern script. A British officer, citing the authority of Massachusetts Democrat Governor Charlie Adams would demand that the assembled colonists disperse and then shout "lay down your arms you damned rebels!". At which point, the Colonists would all surrender their arms to the British contingent, be held as prisoners, and marched back to the garrison in Boston; while the main force continues on to Concord to repeat their success in that village.
That re-enactment would more accurately portray the current state of affairs in Massachusetts.
