Anyone have loose primers experience with Independence 5.56?
Independence, Israeli-made, some say by IMI, marketed by Federal. Headstamped FC 13 2. No NATO stamp (odd, since it is 5.56?) Several primers were found out of their pockets at ejection.
Other brands functioning perfectly, so it is not the gun.
From what I read, Independence is part of the ATK group. In today's market, apparently a headstamp is not a positive indicator of who made the brass. Independence is alleged to be an outlet for Federal over-runs.
For example, I bought 100 new 6.5 Hornady unprimed brass. They range in weight by 7 + grains.
Anyway, interested in the primer problem described above.
Re: Anyone have loose primers experience with Independence 5.56?
Not recently in the batches I have but there always have been some rumblings on the interwebs for years that some Federal brass has loose pockets.
Nothing really new to me. Just never experienced it in large quantities yet. In the last batch of 300 blackout ammo I made I probly had 5 or 6 pieces with loose pockets. Since its range brass I never even paid attn to the headstamp. Just through them in the scrap brass bin.

Guess that's what's happening. Thanks!
