Tom Smith for Tioga County Sheriff
Born and raised in Tioga County, Tom Smith has spent his life serving our nation. First, Tom Smith served in the Marine Corps. After, starting in 1992, he worked as a correctional officer at the Tioga County Prison. Currently, he is working at the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, where has been since 2004. While at the Sheriff's Office, Tom Smith has carried the title Chief Deputy for 10 years. In addition, he has been employed at the Gaines Township, Wellsboro, Westfield, and Tioga Borough police departments. Should he be elected, Tom Smith intends to be a working sheriff for the people.

Kind of hard to believe a deputy under the current sheriff will change much.
The current sheriff doesn't sign off on NFA stuff except for buddies, or so I have heard.
Is the current sheriff retiring?

The NFA thing is irrelevant now since the recent ATF changes to the rules no longer requiring CLEO sign off.
The biggest issue was the sheriff making up his own rules when it came to LTCFs. No one wanted to challenge him in court over it so the best thing is to get a new sheriff when the election came around.
There is another Wellsboro police officer apparently running as well, but I have not heard his stance on anything yet.

I have to edit my previous post, Levindoski is running as a Republican. I don't know his positions on the topics of interest to us.

I met Tom today.
He will be restoring same day approval for a LTCF, reversing the 10 day policy of the current sheriff.

On two separate occasions I have spent time talking with Tom , he is totally the opposite of the current sheriff on firearms issues. Tom is a big proponent of concealed carry,self defense training,and education of Pa's firearms laws laws. The people in the Firearms Community in Wellsboro that I know say he's the real deal!
