Re: PA State Police Handgun Purchaser Database - Violation of PA Law?
Moving back to Penna. from Nc. The lgs got a little mad at me when I called it a back door gun registry .He said no sir Pa. does not have a gun registry it is just a state police form .I told him call it what you want but it is hand gun registry.
Re: PA State Police Handgun Purchaser Database - Violation of PA Law?
I said this on another thread:
If my police superintendent can do a radio interview after an arrest and I hear him say "the guy had 8 handguns registered to him", then it's a fucking registry.
Re: PA State Police Handgun Purchaser Database - Violation of PA Law?
It sounds similar to what the Feds do with 4473s.
We need to get our legislative advocacy on point so we can pass more gun-friendly legislation in PA.

Re: PA State Police Handgun Purchaser Database - Violation of PA Law?
If they use it like a registry to determine ownership (though incomplete), then it is a de facto registry which is exactly what the destruction requirement was meant to prevent!

^^^^^This. Even the local cops can access the database from their vehicles.

If the state form is not a registry and not used for anything, why fill it out and send it in?
