Does anyone here reload the 351 wsl? I've read that 357mag dies will work. Any experience?

I am not sure if .357 dies will work or not. One of the "problems" with the .351 WSL is that jacketed bullets are .351 and cast bullets are .352 in diameter. Cast bullets can be sized or swaged to the proper diameter; good luck on finding jacketed bullets. ( I see Graf has 180 gr. .351 bullets @ $15.99 per 100) You might be able to swage jacketed bullets if you have the correct sizer die. I swage .338 jacketed bullets down to .330 for the 8X56R. If you follow this route Imperial Sizing Die lube is a must.

Sorry for the double post.

Jeff,
Swaging brings up another issue I read about. According to the article, 357 jacketed bullets can be swaged to .352. He also said that 357 maxi brass can be used provided the rim is cut to the proper diameter, an extractor groove cut and the case trimmed to length. I'm not into all that work to make brass, but I would be interested in swaging some bullets.
For starters, where would I find a sizing die for the bullets?
Jim
Contact Lee engineering and see if they will make one for you. If not, another way to go would be to buy the Lee size die in .329 and get it reamed to .351 assuming you are going to use jacketed bullets. I don't think the cost would be prohibative. The Lee catalogue says they will make you a special order die for $25.00. Takes about 3 weeks.
