Re: Much going on in Erie
If you are really traveling Rt. 20, when you come into Westfield, NY, just a few miles shy of the PA line, turn north on Route 394 (North Portage Road) and drive 1.7 miles. If you go any further, you will need a submarine. I recommend When Pigs Fly Barbecue Pit. Are you seeing a theme in my recommendations?
Re: Much going on in Erie
Was just at When Pigs Fly Saturday night! Sign on building actually says "Texas Barbecue", sign on door says "When Pigs Fly". Yes, recommended. North on 394 until you get to the lake, then left.
SevenMilePete, coming from Boston, he will go through North East, and Valley Gun, before he gets to Harborcreek, which also has a pretty good restaurant, the Fiddle Inn.
I'm assuming he isn't planning a week in Erie, just passing through.

Look up Keystone Armory, and Valley Gun Works. The only two I would do bidness with.
Anyone know how Herb is doing? Kory at Valley is a good guy to deal with.

+Me for When Pig's fly. When you're sitting at the light looking west there will be a bridge in front of you to continue on 20. There's Welch's on the left corner and a statue of Abe Lincoln on the right...that's where you make the turn north. When you see the lake and a bunch of boats look left, it's right there.
The rest of us should plan a shoot one of these days.

My mistake, I misread, thought he was traveling East. Reverse everything. :-) Will have to try the bbq myself. Never been there. That I remember anyway. I'm only about 25 or so miles from there.

That sucks but he did smoke like a chimney.
He took care of me more than once.
Re: Much going on in Erie
So are the people in Erie nice? That's the impression Im getting from many of the responses in this thread.
Re: Much going on in Erie
Like any place, you'll find all kinds. Most are nice, as long as you are to them. Of course, you might encounter someone just having a bad day.
If you post a timeframe, I'm sure some local poofa members will be happy to meet up with you.
