Walmart ammo in the Philadelphia area
I was wondering where is the closest Walmart to Philadelphia that carries .40SW. I've never bought ammunition from Walmart but the price seems right and from what I've gleaned the quality is good enough for the range. I keep forgetting to call around the local stores so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Re: Walmart ammo in the Philadelphia area
Im from the lower Northeast, i usually go to the Wal-mart in Horsham or Warminster. Philadelphia Wal-marts do not sell ammo.

There are two in Delco that I use. The first has the better selection and it is near I-95 and the blue route.

There are some things you should know about Wal-Mart and our gun rights.
Re: Walmart ammo in the Philadelphia area
I don't know about Walmart in PA, but I'm from NY and the idiot Walmart here won't sell me .40 caliber S&W rounds for my Ruger PC4 carbine unless I present them with a "pistol permit" for a pistol I don't own because I'm buying ammo for a long gun. I got into a heated argument with the moron manager in the White Plains, NY store and literally schooled her in NYS law in relation to not needing any sort of "permit" for a long gun nor do I need one to buy ammunition. Supposedly, the dickhead who programmed their registers took any pistol caliber ammo and made the registers say "show permit" when buying, even though I explicitly shout at them that this is for a long gun...a carbine in pistol caliber. They refused to sell me ammo because I don't have a pistol permit nor do I need one to own a long gun in NYS. I stormed out of there flipping them off with every profanity you can imagine.
On the flipside, I went to Dick's Sporting Goods and was able to pick up the ammo I needed without any hassles when I told them at the counter it's for a long gun. They just asked for my birthday and had me answer if I was a US citizen on the touchpad where I swipe my credit card.
Regarding Walmart, I don't know if this is a storewide policy everywhere or maybe it just pertains to NY, but those buffoons need to realize that there are pistol caliber rifles out there and they are illegally restricting sales of long gun ammo simply because it "may" be used in a handgun.

Because Philly is like NYC...an urban city where gun crime is rampant so they don't want to sell ammo for legal reasons to cover their asses.

Working on it..trust me, and I am no fan of Dickhead's Sporting Goods either after they pulled long guns from their shelves following the Sandy Hook incident last year in CT to appease the screaming hoplophobic libtards. If things go as planned for me, I'll be relocating to the greater Harrisburg area of PA and working out of Mechanicsburg.
I've been looking for that opportunity to give the People's Socialist Republic of NY the middle finger salute and I just might get that opportunity within a month or so. Keeping my fingers and firearms crossed. :)
