Re: North Strabane Township Police Oppression
It certainly looks like you've been practicing your double-taps. ;)

The police officer might have technical grounds beyond what is stated plainly in the law for his claims of *gonna git you sucka*. Again, this is what a professional lawyer is for, for us normal joes that can't or won't read the billions of little tiny technicalities that a determined *peace officer* or DA could string together to create an arrestable and prosecutable situation out of nothing.
Thanks for the advice.
The township has no required safety zones in their ordinances.
I certainly don't want to risk legal jeopardy and have decided that going to the federal courts for relief will help in two ways:
Getting past the small town politics and reestablishing my rights to target shoot soonest.

Good luck. I'm betting they will change the ordinance.
Re: North Strabane Township Police Oppression
Any help with court related fees?
Re: North Strabane Township Police Oppression
Good luck deangelo, I hope your lawyer wipes the floor with that police chief!
Re: North Strabane Township Police Oppression
Maybe I'm missing something here, but I'm not so sure anyone is going to be wiping the floor with anyone.
I'd be willing to bet that a good 85% of the people on this forum are "oppressed" in that they can't shoot on their own property due to local ordinances.
If my neighbor decided to start target practicing in his back yard, I'd be the first to call the police. It's not safe to do so here - that's why there's an ordinance. It has nothing to do with "oppression."
The OP doesn't really make his situation clear enough to make a call, but until I know more, all I can do is sit back and say, "This should be interesting."
