PAFOA/PMSC Group Shoot #1 (of 4) for 2018 - April 21, 2018 (Near Pgh)

This informal shoot is open to ALL PAFOA MEMBERS!

Only those who are forum members or PMSC members may attend.
Members of PAFOA who are not also members of PMSC are not permitted to bring guests. (unless the guest is a forum member)
(want to bring your significant other? Have them sign up on PAFOA. Any PMSC members may bring guests per club rules)
Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent.

FEE: $5.00 (cash) No fee for PMSC club members
TIME: 10:00am till 1:00pm (please try to arrive by 9:45am)
LOCATION: Pitcairn-Monroeville Sportsmen's Club (PMSC)
505 Mosside Boulevard (Rt. 48) North Versailles, PA 15137

Safety briefing will be at 9:45am. PLEASE arrive by this time so you do not miss important info or delay the start time.

When you enter the club property, go straight past the first building on left, through gate that will be open, bear right, head toward the large building on right. (follow the smell of BACON!)
Continue past building, you will see skeet/trap shooting area to your right, continue past that and road starts to go up a hill.
There is a sharp left turn before heading up a steep hill.(cars OK)
Continue to top. Some parking by the main range, or park along road near the top.

ONLY THE 3 IPSC RANGES ARE OPEN TO PAFOA GROUP SHOOTERS, all other ranges are off limits to non PMSC club members unless a PMSC member signs you into the Guest book and pays the additional $5.00 after the shoot. All other ranges will be available to those who pay the $5.00 guest fee and are accompanied by a PMSC member. Please note that our guest policy has changed and is available for view at the sign in booth.

Rules for shooting steel:

The steel bay will be open with steel targets provided. (anyone who wishes to bring their own steel targets is welcome to do so)
For safety and target preservation reasons we request that only lead or copper jacketed lead bullets are used.
No frangible bullets or anything a magnet sticks to.
Also we're restricting this to non-magnum pistol calibers only such as 38 spl, 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP. No magnums!
9mm carbines are okay.
Eye and ear protection are a must and we also strongly suggest wearing a baseball type hat for further protection in the event of any lead splashback.


This Month's "BONUS FUN" Competition:
Everyone who participated in last years pistol match seemed to enjoy it so we'll continue on with some fun competitive shoots for those who wish to participate. It is free and not mandatory.

April's shoot will offer a 3 gun turkey shoot. Rifle, handgun and shotgun.
You get 1 shot from each gun fired at a 1" orange sticker. The goal is to hit as close to the center of the orange sticker as you can.
No restrictions at all on the firearms you use. They can be centerfire, rimfire, scoped, open sights etc, nor will there be restrictions on shot size for the shotguns. For handgun the target will be placed at 50 feet. For shotgun and rifle the distance will be 25 yards.
I'll have a spare shotgun, rifle and pistol for anyone to borrow if you need one.
The top 3 shooters with the lowest scores will be awarded a prize!

You're part of it. All those times you and others volunteered to cook the bacon, the people who provide the steel and those who help set up and break down are all part of what makes it happen. It is a true team effort!

I am really looking forward to the summer, group shoots and bacon. We were at the club this morning. The hot brass was melting into the snow. When the snow melts there is going to be a brass bonanza at the ranges.

I have some new steel to bring. And bacon.

I believe ill be there.i have some .45Colt brass promised out.
I gave away about 15 lbs of .45 ACP brass and am.looking for a home for .40 S&W and 9mm brass ( about a coffee can full.
First request for a reloader on here gets it. Its free.
I could scrap it but would like it to be recycled thrlugh a gun. Ha.
